This course is recognized by the Canadian Avalanche Association as the introduction Avalanche Course. This course is vital if you are planning to go into the backcountry this winter. In this course you will be introduced to safe winter travel practices, route finding, avalanche safety equipment, tranceiver use and searches, basic science of avalanches and more.
We use professional ACMG Ski guides and CAA professionals to give you the training you deserver and need.

| 9am to 12pm | Registration and introduction to Avalanches and Avalanche terrain. |
| 12 pm | Lunch break |
| 1 pm to 4pm | Intro to Avalanche beacon theory and practice. Avaluator risk analysis tool. Science of the snowpack. Intro to safety gear, tranceiver, shovel, probe, improvised toboggan. |

| 9am to 430pm | Meet in Canmore and drive to field area. Practice with avalanche tranceivers. Intro to snow study and field tests. Route finding practice and theory. Rescue scenario. Course debrief. |
